Getting MathML from Microsoft Word

Instructions for getting MathML from Word 2007 or MathType are presented here.

Using Word 2007

1. Open the Insert tab.

2. Insert an equation

3. Click on the tiny icon in the bottom-right corner of the Tools box.

4. Select the option to copy MathML as plain text.

All done! Now if you copy equations out of Word, it will be copied as MathML.

Using MathType 6

1. Open the Preferences menu of MathType and select Translators...

2. Select the 'Translation to other language(text)' radio button. In the Translator drop-down box, select MathML 2.0 (no namespace).

Press OK and you're done. Now any formula you copy will be pasted as MathML.
